Campus Ministry Program Assistant

POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Director of Campus Ministry for Lincoln Center, the Campus Ministry Program Assistant primarily supports the communications and marketing efforts of the department including communications and social media strategy, content development, and project management. The program assistant will also support work of the department with other projects as-needed, which may include event preparation and implementation,
representing the department at functions, and more. This position is a part-time (18 hours per week), 10-month position (mid-August to mid-June) based fully in-person at Fordham’s Lincoln Center campus and is subject to reappointment each year. This position will require occasional evening, weekend, and holiday hours.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• In collaboration with the Director of CM for LC and relevant team members, implement a marketing and communications strategy for the department including overseeing best practices and content creation for social media, digital signage, newsletters, website, calendar, etc.
• Spearhead Campus Ministry’s social media outreach initiatives including organizing a social media strategy and best practices for content creation for student interns to implement.
• Create and maintain a communications calendar for the department.
• Assist with the planning, promotion, and implementation of select CM at LC programming as needed, including occasional evening and weekend events.
• Support marketing of CM initiatives through traditional and new media and, in constant collaboration with staff and students, utilize partnerships and relationships to market CM’s inclusive message and opportunities.
• Support the implementation of outreach initiatives both active (in-person) and passive (i.e. through media including bulletin boards, social media, newsletters, etc.)
• Serve as a member of the LC team by assisting with department initiatives at LC when needed including setup for events, representing the department on occasion, helping to facilitate initiatives when necessary, and other needs that arise.
• Provide a proactive approach to administrative responsibilities, planning, project management and support for current and new Campus Ministry Lincoln Center initiatives; assist with daily office responsibilities; and other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree required; Graduate degree in-progress preferred.
• Some experience in marketing and communications, new media, social media, etc.;
• Some experience leading a team and ensuring follow-through on task completion;

• Some experience with spiritual programs and/or work with undergraduate students or young adults, preferably in a Catholic and Jesuit university context; familiarity with Ignatian spirituality and social justice.
• Proficiency in Google Sheets/Docs/etc. and contemporary social media platforms
• Strong administrative skills
• Excellent communication and organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Collaborative team-player; reliable; ability to work well independently
