Social Media Intern

This paid internship is funded by the Cultural Engagement Internships program and is only available to students at Fordham College at Lincoln Center and Fordham College at Rose Hill.

Internship opportunity with City Schools Sports Association (CSSA)

Social Media Intern
Communications 
15 Hours Per Week
12 Hours in Person, 3 Hours Remote 

Start Date: January 24, 2023
End Date: May 12, 2023
The internship will run about 200 hours in total, as this schedule is inclusive of the spring break and Easter holiday. 

The City Schools Sports Association (CSSA) was founded in 2019 with the intent to provide quality sports programming to the students of New York City. We currently have various sports programs across New York City for both middle and high school athletes. Our athletic league aims to motivate and empower students to develop leadership, well-being, sportsmanship, and interpersonal skills. All while nurturing a sense of civic responsibility by giving back to the community.

The Social Media Intern will be responsible for attending CSSA events to capture pictures and videos to gather content for our social media pages.  (Please note that transportation costs are not additionally compensated beyond the stipend provided to the intern by Fordham.)  Additionally, the social media intern is encouraged to highlight our student-athletes and create engaging, creative content to grow our audience. 

RESPONSIBILITIES
This intern will be:
●      Using social media to help grow our audience
●      Working to create social media posts (pictures, videos, etc.)
●      Analyzing the current social media plan and making suggestions that lead toward improvement
●      Travel through the five boroughs to league events to gather material for social media posts 

QUALIFICATIONS
An applicant for this position should have:
●      Excellent knowledge of social media platforms
●      Creative mindset
●      Ability to work alongside a diverse group of individuals to obtain the same goal
●      Willingness and ability to travel within NYC 
●      Preferred that applicant has and/or can gain access to photography/video equipment (our organization has equipment if need be)
●      Ability to track engagement on various social media platforms
