Customer Service Intern
The Utility Customer Service department is seeking an intern to assist with the duties and responsibilities of a Customer Service Representative in a variety of areas. This internship would support the seasonal increase in call volume and assist with day-to-day department operations in a variety of areas.
INTERN SALARY - SEE BELOW
Freshman or Sophomore College Student - $13.00/per hour
Junior, Senior, or Technical/Vocational College Student - $14.00/per hour
Graduate Level College Student - $15.00/per hour
The duration of this internship would be for approximately 6 -9 months working no more than 25 hours per week.
Office Hours: Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Answer telephone calls, receives the general public, and provides information or referrals regarding departmental and city services and operations.
- Explains, communicates, and relays departmental and city policies, procedures, and applicable rules and regulations to the public via personal contact, telephone conversation, or written correspondence.
- Communicates with utility customers to collect payments on delinquent accounts or makes necessary arrangements for repayment by telephone, written correspondence and/or in person.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid State Driver's License
- Currently enrolled college student (undergraduate, graduate level, technical/vocational). Preferred majors/concentrations include Business Administration, Public Administration, Marketing, Organizational Communication, or related.
