Transportation Engineer Intern
TYLin is seeking a Transporation Planning Intern to join our TYLin | Sam Schwartz City Solutions team. This opportunity can be based in New York City.
We are seeking a passionate student to join our interdisciplinary team of consultants (planning, urban design, transporation engineering) to work on a range of planning projects. Projects that may include corridor studies, bike and pedestrian plans, emerging mobility, communitywide multi-modal transportation plans.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will serve as a contributor on project tasks including research; data collection and analysis; mapping and geospatial analysis; public and stakeholder outreach; and development of maps, reports, presentations, and graphics. Ideal candidates will be solutions-focused, with the ability to contribute to problem solving, report writing, and positive team dynamics.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Working towards an Engineering / Planning degree
- Familiarity with traffic planning/analysis software including HCS, Synchro/SimTraffic, GIS
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required
- Experience in AutoCAD and MicroStation is preferred
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Ability to present ideas, projects and solutions in a polished and professional manner
