Hire Date: Hiring immediately - start date of July 1st, 2024
 

I’RAISE + ACS: 

I’RAISE is partnering with the Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) using the School-Based-Early Support model. The goal is to partner closely with schools to connect families to support and services well before concerns warrant a call to the Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR). ACS, through I’RAISE, intends to offer families “light touch” service options that strive to connect families to community resources through case management, address families’ concrete needs, support parent/caregiver capacity in their caregiving roles, and avoid unnecessary investigations.

Position Summary:

The School Outreach Liaison would serve as the primary contact for school staff and lead on partnership-building with key stakeholders. Responsible for family outreach and engagement efforts, co-design strategy and planning for school-based offerings, facilitation of parent/caregiver support model (EBP), and guiding the Community Pathway Worker. 

Responsibilities:

  • Attending and representing the School-Based Early Support program’s perspective at partner school leadership meetings;
  • Coordinating with principals and community school directors, if applicable, at partner schools, to ensure School-Based Early Support complements other school-based services;
  • Liaising with Parent-Teacher Associations or other parent leadership entities to ensure School-Based Early Support services are responsive to needs identified by partner schools and families;
  • Regularly meeting with identified partner schools’ Child Abuse and Maltreatment Prevention and Intervention Teams and/or Designated Liaisons for Child Abuse Prevention to coordinate efforts to identify families that may benefit from School-Based Early Support; to ensure school staff are aware of School-Based Early Support and understand its objectives and target population; and to integrate School-Based Early Support as a part of the schools’ Child Abuse and Maltreatment Prevention Plan and/or District Counseling Plans, where appropriate;
  • Leading program-level implementation of evidence-based models, which may include coordinating training and family outreach and recruitment, and facilitating groups; and
  • Guide the Community Pathway Worker.
  • Supporting efforts to co-design school-based offerings
  • Complete other relevant tasks as assigned by the job supervisor.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, education, or similar human services field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a school or educational or social service setting, preferably in a liaison / lead role..
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of educational systems, community resources, and social services.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.

Travel Requirement:

  • Ability to travel within New York City public schools to perform job-based duties
  • Must be a New York City Resident with a valid Social Security Number - I’RAISE does not provide relocation assistance nor provide any visa sponsorship at this time
