I’RAISE + ACS: 

I’RAISE is partnering with the Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) using the School-Based-Early Support model. The goal is to partner closely with schools to connect families to support and services well before concerns warrant a call to the Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR). ACS, through I’RAISE, intends to offer families “light touch” service options that strive to connect families to community resources through case management, address families’ concrete needs, support parent/caregiver capacity in their caregiving roles, and avoid unnecessary investigations.

Position Summary:

Responsible for screening families for concrete needs and benefits eligibility and providing 1-1 community resource and service enrollment navigation, advocacy, and documentation support.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for screening families for concrete needs and benefits eligibility and providing 1-1 community resource and service enrollment navigation, advocacy, and documentation support.
  • Develop and expand partnerships with government agencies, community-based organizations, and school-based entities to ensure families can access specialized services and support as needed
  • Establish referral protocols with organizations, including those serving people with disabilities, to ensure families can access services
  • Ensure that all service offerings are accessible to families with varying physical, intellectual, developmental, linguistic, and cultural needs
  • Provide internal staff capacity to meet the language needs of families in targeted schools.
  • Assess and support families to address their basic needs for income, food, diapers, clothing, furniture, and transportation support.
  • Support families’ navigation of, and access to, essential community services such as child care, health services, and housing.
  • Offer flexible hours to accommodate family members who work, attend school, or are otherwise engaged in activities during regular school or business hours.
  • Collaborate with ACS to provide technical assistance, quality assurance, continuous quality improvement, and customer service to School-Based Early Support providers.
  • Ensure that engaged parents and partners reflect the diversity of community members.
  • Create opportunities for authentic youth participation in service planning and delivery
  • Review evidence-based practices and models to empower parents/caregivers with knowledge and tools that support child well-being.
  • Provide evidence-based interventions that strengthen parenting knowledge and skills to support child development and well-being.
  • Collaborate with contract providers to supervise staff who are well-trained and equipped to engage and work with families in a way that fosters family and child well-being, mitigates risk, and promotes child safety.

Qualifications/Requirement::

  • BA/BS/BSW;  Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field
  • At least one year of relevant experience.
  • Excellent communication skills

Travel Requirement:

  • Ability to travel within New York City public schools to perform job-based duties
  • Must be a New York City Resident with a valid Social Security Number - I’RAISE does not provide relocation assistance nor provide any visa sponsorship at this time
