We are a long-established and growing dermatology office and ambulatory surgery center located in Chevy Chase, MD seeking a motivated and energetic recent college graduate to join our team! The Medical Assistant Intern position is ideal for someone who is interested in experiencing extensive direct patient contact, developing direct, hands-on clinical skills and increasing their medical knowledge, with the opportunity for clinical research. We offer a supportive learning environment, and have had many students successfully matriculate into medical, nursing, PA and graduate school.

The ideal candidate is on the pre-professional track, and has completed their BA or BS degree. Applicants should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be highly organized and detail-oriented, eager to learn, with strong computer literacy. Previous clinical experience a plus, but not required.

2-YEAR COMMITMENT OF FULL-TIME EMPLOYMENT REQUIRED.

The Medical Assistant Intern will learn to:

- room patients, triage and scribe for providers - providing extensive direct patient contact

- assist in minor procedures such as biopsies and photodynamic therapy

- take full body photography

- assist in various cosmetic procedures

- perform wound care and dressing changes

- administrative duties include: cleaning and stocking rooms, prescriptions, patient calls and letters, completing logs.
