Academic Program Intern

Location: 641 Lexington Avenue, New York, NY (Hybrid)

Position Overview:

We are offering an exciting internship opportunity for a motivated individual to join our academic team with Stephen A. Schwarzman Education Foundation, the developers of Schwarzman Scholars. As an Academic Program Intern, you will gain valuable experience in various aspects of academic, faculty recruitment, curriculum development, and partnership building. This internship provides an excellent learning opportunity for students interested in pursuing careers in higher education administration, international affairs, or related fields.

Key Responsibilities:

Conducting Research on Leading Experts:

  • Conduct internet research and identify prominent experts in specific issue areas relevant to the Schwarzman Scholars program curriculum.
  • Collating information on their research, publications, and expertise to inform curriculum design and guest lecturer invitations.

Identifying Global Universities and Institutions:

  • Identifying top-tier universities and institutions worldwide, with a special emphasis on those located in the Global South.
  • Focusing on programs that teach and conduct research on Global Affairs, with preference given to those with a China-centric focus, such as BRICS, BRI, and EU-China Relations.

Research on Potential Faculty and Guest Lecturers:

  • Conducting in-depth research and gathering information on potential faculty members and guest lecturers recommended by program partners.
  • Compiling detailed profiles including their academic backgrounds, areas of expertise, and previous teaching experiences.

 

Assisting with Academic Projects:

  • Providing support to various academic projects as required by the program team.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in a relevant field (e.g., international relations, education, business administration).
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in research and data analysis.
  • Interest in higher education, international affairs, and/or China studies preferred.
