Community Resource Specialist

BIANJ is a statewide non-profit with a mission to improve the quality of life for anyone impacted by brain injury by providing support, advocacy, and information, while promoting brain injury prevention. We are seeking a motivated Community Resource Specialist to join our team. While you’ll work remotely, your impact will be felt throughout as you connect with clients and communities in need. Our ideal candidate is resourceful, organized, positive, team oriented and able to work independently. You must have a commitment to equity as well as cultural competency skills and an ability to connect with underserved communities.

Responsibilities:

  • Advocacy: Act as a strong voice for clients in diverse situations.
  • Resource Connection: Link individuals and families to critical services and supports.
  • Emotional Support: Provide compassionate care and understanding to those in need.
  • Outreach: Conduct outreach efforts targeted at underserved communities to expand our impact.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate electronic records of interactions and progress.
  • Flexibility: Conduct home visits as necessary to better serve our clients.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, public health, education, or a related field.
  • Experience: Ideally, one year of experience working directly with individuals affected by brain injury or other disabilities, and their families.
  • Skills: Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal), organizational abilities, and cultural competency.
  • Requirements: Must have local travel capability, a valid driver’s license, and access to a vehicle.
