HSI Explorer Post 601 is a youth program dedicated to aspiring law enforcement professionals. We offer hands-on training, mentorship from experienced special agents, and community service opportunities. Open House Invitation

Join us at the HSI Explorer Post 601 Open House for an exciting opportunity to explore your path to a federal law enforcement career. This event is open to all interested candidates (ages 14-20) and their families. Come learn about our program, meet our post, and discover how you can be a part of an extraordinary experience!​​​​

IMPORTANT​

  • Guests must bring their valid state-issued photo ID (or a school ID if under 18) on the day of the event. Unregistered guests will not be admitted. Limited seats available.
  • We'll be in touch with confirmation and additional information.

Program Eligibility

Applicants must meet the following qualifications:

  • Be a U.S. citizen or a Lawful Permanent Resident.
  • Be between the ages of 14 and 20.
  • Be enrolled in an accredited high school or college.
  • Have and maintain at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA).
  • Have a good disciplinary standing at school.
  • Pass a background check.​
  • Live in the New York City Metropolitan Area (NY/NJ/CT).
  • Obtain parent or guardian's consent (if under 18).

Program Requirements

Selected Recruits and Explorers must adhere to all four of the below criteria to remain a participant in the program:

  • ​Commit to attending weekly meetings in Lower Manhattan every Friday evening from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, beginning in Oct. 2024, and ending in Jun. 2025.
  • Remain at least in part-time student status as defined by their accredited academic institution.
  • Maintain at least a 2.0 GPA.
  • Complete all administrative requirements (e.g. sign the Agreement Form, pay a $100 registration fee, etc.).

Application Process

Applications for FY2025 are now OPEN until Nov. 1. Priority will be given to applications submitted by Oct. 1, 2024. Read the program eligibility and requirements carefully and submit the following required documents by the listed deadline:

  • HSI Explorer Post 601 Application Packet​​​​​
  • Resume
  • Transcript
  • Class Schedule​
  • Copy of Driver's License or State Issued ID (School ID is acceptable if under 18)
  • $100 Registration Fee via Zelle
    • **A $100 registration fee will be refunded if you are not accepted into the program.​​
