What You’ll Do:
The Trademark Spring (January – April) Intern will provide support to Authentic’s Trademarks Legal team. You will support trademark prosecution during all phases of domestic and foreign trademark prosecution, from pre-filing to maintenance of issued trademarks. You will also assist on enforcement and opposition matters.
What You’ll Be Working On:
- This position will assist on trademark prosecution, opposition, and enforcement matters;
- Gather use specimens for filing with the USPTO;
- Assist with IP assignment projects;
- Assist with on-line takedowns, including e-commerce takedowns and UDRP actions;
- Draft cease and desist letters;
- Gather evidence of use and/or fame for use in pending third-party trademark disputes;
- Review fully-executed license agreements and update trademark records accordingly;
- Review the docket daily to track all deadlines associated with trademark prosecution, opposition, and enforcement matters with the daily clearance of deadlines;
- Organize, retrieve, and re-shelve files as needed.
Must Haves:
- Currently enrolled law school student
- Available to work up to 20 hours per week
- Able to work onsite in our NYC office
- Willingness to get your hands dirty and make things happen.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable in a high-paced, collaborative environment
- Detail oriented
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel and G Suite
- Process-driven and constantly looking for ways to streamline and simplify complex tasks
- Able to handle multiple tasks and projects
Primary Location Salary Range:
The hourly rate for an undergraduate student intern in New York, NY, is $17.
The hourly rate for a graduate student intern in New York, NY, is $20.
