Position Overview:
We are seeking a Junior Data Scientist Intern to assist our team in leveraging data to enhance the impact of our platform. This internship offers valuable hands-on experience in data analysis, machine learning, and predictive modeling, allowing you to apply your academic knowledge to real-world problems in a social impact context.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Collection & Cleaning:
Assist in gathering and cleaning data from various sources to prepare it for analysis. Ensure data integrity and accuracy.
Data Analysis:
Support the team in analyzing datasets to identify patterns, trends, and insights that can improve the platform’s performance and user experience.
Modeling & Algorithms:
Help implement machine learning models and algorithms, such as recommendation systems or predictive models, under the guidance of senior data scientists.
Data Visualization:
Assist in creating data visualizations to communicate findings clearly to internal teams and stakeholders.
Report Preparation:
Support in preparing reports and presentations that summarize data insights and their potential impact on organizational goals.
Collaboration:
Work closely with other teams, including engineering and product, to implement data-driven strategies and improve the platform.
Qualifications:
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL.
Experience with data analysis libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, matplotlib).
Basic knowledge of machine learning algorithms and concepts.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate complex data insights clearly.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to learn.
Passion for using data science to make a positive social impact.
