What I liked
A great workplace with lots of great people. Allows individuals to work with independence while also offering plenty of guidance from upper management. Cared a lot about their employees and had a great work-life balance aside from busy seasons. Enjoyed a lot of fun events with co-workers such as SF Giants Game & company dinners.

Technology Consulting Intern
June - August 2019 • Dubuque, IA
What I liked
Very flexible and you have a lot of control of your own work. You are given a task and the resources to do it, and then it is up to you. Large company with a lot of people to help you if needed. Internship activities and fundraising events as well.
What I wish was different
Typically I was not sure what I would be doing until that day, pretty typical for consulting though. Makes work more interesting.
Advice
Ask a lot of questions and branch out from your line of business if you can.

What I liked
Got actual industry experience, employees were very helpful and were eager to help you learn. Great company culture.
What I wish was different
I wish that more people had been in office. Every once in a while everyone would go in, but it wasn't the best experience all remote.
Advice
Reach out to the Partners. They were very eager to meet with the incoming interns and always available to help out when needed. Great relationships were built by just sending them a simple email.

Audit Intern
January - April 2019 • Minneapolis, MN
What I liked
I most liked how welcoming everyone in my department and the entire company was. They all know that you're an intern and it is a steep learning curve to come on in January and start working with clients immediately. My co-workers all encouraged me to ask questions because that's the best way to learn and it's better to ask questions than to guess and get it wrong.
What I wish was different
I wish we could've shadowed or talked to someone in a different industry during my internship. I was in the health care industry but it would've been helpful to learn more about auditing the commercial team. This would make me more sure about my decision to stay on the healthcare team.

Real audit work and treated more like a staff member than just an intern.

Longer. 8 weeks was interesting because I was finally getting a lot better at things as it ended.
Advice
Ask a lot of questions. No one expects you to know everything and they can't help if you don't ask.

What I liked
I really enjoyed all of the people that worked at the firm. They truly cared about educating myself, as well as the other interns. There was a sense of community at the firm and we participated in philanthropic activities throughout the summer to give back to our communities. It was very nice to work at a firm that cares about employees and you are not just viewed as another number in their system, rather an individual.
What I wish was different
